Microsoft Build Brings AI Tools to the Front for Developers - The Official Microsoft Blog (2023)

You only need two simple letters to accurately convey the big change in the tech space this year:A and me. Plugins are tools first introduced for ChatGPT and more recently Bing that enhance the capabilities of AI systems by enabling them to interact with application programming interfaces (APIs) of other software and services to deliver information in real time. data, integrate corporate and other business data, perform new types of calculations, and securely perform actions on behalf of the user. Growing the ecosystem of AI plugins

Microsoft isto announcethat we will use the same open plug-in standard that OpenAI introduced for ChatGPT, enabling interoperability between ChatGPT and Microsoft's copilot offerings.

Developers can use nowAplatform for building plugins that work on both consumer and business interfaces, including ChatGPT, Bing, Dynamics 365 Copilot, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

And if you want to develop and use your own plugins with the AI ​​application built into the Azure OpenAI service, they will be interoperable with the same plugin standard by default. This means developers can create experiences that let people interact with their apps using the most natural user interface: human language.

As part of this shared plugin platform,Bing adds plugin support. In addition to the previously announced additions to OpenTable and Wolfram Alpha, we also have Expedia, Instacart, Kayak, Klarna, Redfin and Zillow in the Bing ecosystem, among others.

In addition to the shared add-on platform, Microsoft is announcing that Bing is coming to ChatGPT as the default search experience. In addition, Microsoft has announcednew opportunities for media emergencecoming to Microsoft Designer and Bing Image Creator in the coming months that allow users to verify if an image or video was created by AI. The technology uses cryptographic methods to tag and sign AI-generated content with metadata about its origin.

Omniverse Cloud, available only on Azure, enables organizations to aggregate data into massive, powerful models, connect domain-specific software tools, and enable live collaboration between multiple users at factory locations. New features for Microsoft Dev Box

Unveiling a new home for developers in Windows 11 with Dev Home

Developer houseit will be released in Microsoft Build in preview as a new Windows experience that developers can get from the Microsoft Store.

Dev Home makes it easy to connect to GitHub and configure cloud development environments such as Microsoft Dev Box and GitHub Codespaces. Dev Home is open source and fully extensible, empowering developers to enhance their experience with a customizable dashboard and the tools they need to succeed.

Meet Windows Copilot for Windows 11

Last fall, Chief Product Officer Panos Panai spoke at the launch of Windows and Surface about the power of artificial intelligence to unlock new models of computer interaction with Windows Studio Effects and DALL-E 2 in Microsoft Designer, and at CES he spoke about how artificial intelligence is going to reinvent the way people do things on Windows.

Windows will be the first PC platform to bring AI support together at launchWindows copilot.
